- निर्माण कामगारों, प्रवासी कामगारों, प्लेटफार्म कामगारों, स्ट्रीट वेंडरों, घरेलू कामगारों, कृषि कामगारों आदि सहित सभी असंगठित कामगारों (यूडब्ल्यू) का एक केंद्रीकृत डेटाबेस तैयार करना, जिन्हें आधार से जोड़ा जाएगा।
- असंगठित कामगारों के लिए सामाजिक सुरक्षा सेवाओं की कार्यान्वयन दक्षता में सुधार करने के लिए। सामाजिक सुरक्षा योजनाओं का एकीकरण जो यूडब्ल्यू के लिए श्रम मंत्रालय द्वारा प्रशासित किया जा रहा है और बाद में अन्य मंत्रालयों द्वारा भी चलाया जाएगा इस डाटा का उपयोग किया जाएगा।
- पंजीकृत असंगठित कामगारों के संबंध में विभिन्न हितधारकों जैसे मंत्रालयों/विभागों/बोर्डों/एजेंसियों/केंद्र और राज्य सरकारों के संगठनों के साथ एपीआई के माध्यम से उनके द्वारा प्रशासित की जा रही विभिन्न सामाजिक सुरक्षा और कल्याणकारी योजनाओं के वितरण के लिए जानकारी साझा करना।
- प्रवासी और निर्माण कामगारों को सामाजिक सुरक्षा और कल्याणकारी लाभों की सुवाह्यता।

ईश्रम (NDUW) पोर्टल में कौन पंजीकरण कर सकता है?
निम्नलिखित शर्तों को पूरा करने वाला कोई भी व्यक्ति पोर्टल पर पंजीकरण करा सकता है:
- एक असंगठित कार्यकर्ता (UW) जिसकी आयु 16-59 वर्ष के बीच होनी चाहिए
- उसे ईपीएफओ/ईएसआईसी या सरकार द्वारा वित्त पोषित एनपीएस का सदस्य नहीं होना चाहिए
असंगठित श्रमिक कौन है?
कोई भी कामगार असंगठित श्रमिक कहे जायेंगे जो असंगठित क्षेत्र में हैं यथा घर पर काम करने वाला, स्वरोजगार करने वाला या मजदूरी करने वाला. इसमें संगठित क्षेत्र के वे कर्मचारी भी शामिल है जो ईएसआईसी या ईपीएफओ का सदस्य नहीं है या सरकारी कर्मचारी नहीं है।
पंजीकरण के लिए क्या आवश्यक है?
पोर्टल पर पंजीकरण करने के लिए निम्नलिखित आवश्यक है:
- आधार संख्या
- मोबाइल नंबर जो आधार से जुड़ा हुआ है।
- IFSC कोड के साथ बचत बैंक खाता संख्या
यू ए एन क्या है?
यूनिवर्सल अकाउंट नंबर एक 12 अंकों की संख्या है जो विशिष्ट रूप से प्रत्येक असंगठित कर्मचारी को eSHRAM पोर्टल पर पंजीकरण के बाद सौंपी जाती है। UAN नंबर एक स्थायी नंबर होगा यानी एक बार असाइन किए जाने के बाद, यह कर्मचारी के जीवन भर अपरिवर्तित रहेगा।
ईश्रम पोर्टल पर पंजीकृत होने के लाभ

कार्ड का नवीनीकरण
श्रमिकों को अपने विवरण, मोबाइल नंबर, वर्तमान पता आदि को नियमित रूप से अपडेट करने के लिए ईएसएचआरएम कार्ड को नवीनीकृत करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है।
अपने कार्ड को सक्रिय रखने के लिये क्या करें
अपने खाते को सक्रिय रखने के लिए, उसे वर्ष में कम से कम एक बार अपना खाता अपडेट करना आवश्यक है।
व्यवसाय का प्राथमिक और माध्यमिक स्तर
पंजीकरण के समय कार्यकर्ता को व्यवसाय का चयन करना होगा। यह दो स्तर के चयन पर आधारित होगा – पहले स्तर पर कार्यकर्ता को सेक्टर (कृषि, ऑटोमोबाइल, निर्माण, आदि) का चयन करना होगा, जो कि गतिविधियों की व्यापक श्रेणी है। दूसरे स्तर पर कार्यकर्ता को अपनी गतिविधि का चयन व्यवसाय के रूप में करना होता है जो कार्यकर्ता वर्तमान में कर रहा है।
गतिविधि जो उसकी प्रमुख आय का स्रोत है वह प्राथमिक गतिविधि/व्यवसाय है। कोई अन्य गतिविधि जो आय का एक मामूली लेकिन महत्वपूर्ण स्रोत है, द्वितीयक व्यवसाय कहलाता है।
क्या व्यवसाय और कौशल समानार्थी हैं
एक कौशल एक विशेष कार्य को पूरा करने के लिए एक सीखा या प्राकृतिक क्षमता है, जबकि एक व्यवसाय एक व्यक्ति का सामान्य या प्रमुख कार्य या व्यवसाय है, विशेष रूप से जीविकोपार्जन के साधन के रूप में।
मृत्यु के बाद क्या करें
नामांकित व्यक्ति या परिवार के सदस्य को संबंधित दस्तावेजों के साथ eSHRAM पोर्टल/सीएससी पर दावा दायर करना चाहिए। वे अपने संबंधित बैंकों से भी संपर्क कर सकते हैं।

क्या किसान पात्र हैं
केवल कृषि श्रमिक और भूमिहीन किसान ही eSHRAM पोर्टल में पंजीकरण के लिए पात्र हैं। अन्य किसान पात्र नहीं हैं।

Objectives of eSHRAM Portal
- Creation of a centralized database of all unorganized workers (UWs) including Construction Workers, Migrant Workers, Platform workers, Street Vendors, Domestic Workers, Agriculture Workers, etc., to be seeded with Aadhaar.
- To improve the implementation efficiency of the social security services for the unorganized workers.(ii) Integration of Social Security Schemes meant for UWs being administered by MoLE and subsequently those run by other ministries as well.

Who can register in eShram (NDUW) Portal?
- Any individual satisfying following condition can register on the portal:
- An unorganised worker (UW).
- Age should be between 16-59 years.
- Not a member of EPFO/ESIC or NPS (Govt. funded)
Who is Unorganised Worker?
- Any worker who is a home based-worker, self-employed worker or a wage worker in the unorganised sector including a worker in the organised sector who is not a member of ESIC or EPFO or not a Govt. employee is called an Unorganised Worker.
What is required for registration?
Following is required to register on the portal:
- Mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
- Savings Bank Account number with IFSC code
- Aadhar Number
What is UAN?
Universal Account Number is a 12 digits number uniquely assigned to each unorganized worker after registration on eSHRAM portal. UAN number will be a permanent number i.e. once assigned, it will remain unchanged for the worker’s lifetime.
Benefits of getting Registered
Central Government has developed eSHRAM portal which will be a centralized database of unorganized workers seeded with Aadhaar. After registering, he/she will get an Accidental Insurance cover of 2 Lacs under PMSBY. In future, all the social security benefits of unorganized workers will be delivered through this portal. In emergency and national pandemic like situations, this database may be utilized to provide necessary assistance to the eligible unorganized workers.
Validity period of the e-Shram Card
This is a permanent number and valid for lifetime.
Renewal of the e-Shram Card
There is no need to renew the eSHRAM card to the workers to regularly update their details, mobile number, current address etc. In order to keep his account active, he/she is required to update his account at least once in a year.

It is National Classification of Occupation prepared on the basis of work and skill levels required to execute the work. It is an international practice and uniform across the country. It helps in comparing, classifying, sorting occupations and skill levels.
PRIMARY & SECONDARY Level of Occupation
At the time of registration worker’s need to select occupation. It will be based on two level selection – At first level worker needs to select Sector (Agriculture, Automobiles, Construction, etc.), which is broad based category of activities. At second level worker is required to select his activity in the form of occupation which worker is currently doing.
The activity which is source of his major income is primary activity/occupation. Any other activity which is a minor but significant source of income is called secondary occupation.

A skill is a learned or natural ability to accomplish a particular task whereas an occupation is a person’s usual or principal work or business, especially as a means of earning a living.
What shall the labour ministry do with the details
It is a centralized database seeded with Aadhaar. It will be used for delivery of social security benefits as implemented by Central & State Ministries. It will also ensure portability of the social security and welfare benefits to the migrant and construction workers at their working places. It may also be used for providing assistance to the eligible workers during any National crisis like COVID-19 in future.

What After the Age of 60 of those who are registered at e-Shram Portal
Worker do not need to take any action after attaining the age of 60. He/ she will continue to get benefits under eSHRAM project, he/she is entitled for.

Are Farmers Eligible to Register at e-Shram
Only agriculture labour’s and landless farmers are eligible for registration in the eSHRAM portal. Other farmers are not eligible.
What is the relevance of age of 16 & 18 years in the scheme of e-Shram ?

Suppose while filling the form system shuts down abruptly or the connectivity is lost or for whatsoever reason the work is half done.
